As I have participated in my IDT 7914 class this semester, I have realized how much I have to grow and learn in the area of technology. At first, I will admit, I felt so defeated realizing how much new technology had been integrated into the classroom setting since I have been away. But, as I have researched and learned, this will forever be the case--meaning new technologies will always evolve, rotating in and out. The key is how am I keeping myself abreast of the new information, the old and and the developing as blogger Jeremey O'Toole has written.
There is so much to learn and so much of it is at my fingertips---literally! Just getting on to my computer and search up addressing the digital gap, or innovations in technology or just going to a new favorite websiet EdTech, I am learning so much about trending changes in educational technology, how to address them in the K12 setting, and how to grow as a professional.
As this course comes to an end, I pledge to myself to keep going with this blog, keep learning about educational technology and how it can be used to support students who are marginalized especially and continue to understand how schools on the cutting edge of technology integration are incorporating technology too prepare students for 21st century careers.
I have to admit, this is exciting stuff to me. Sure it's daunting and a little scary because there is so much to learn, but that is what an educator, teacher and leader does!
